    Rated 2 out of 5 by from would not do The interior width of these "CD crates" is exactly 5". If you are careful you can get a standard jewel case in and out, but if you have any cd's that are in the mini LP sleeves ( which a lot are now ) you are out of luck. I wound up having to buy a 1x4 and make my own, which I was trying to avoid.They are sturdily made though,as I destroyed the three I bought to salvage enough slats (6) to make 1 that would work. If I need any more I'll buy the slats too. If what you need is a small rustic box to decorate, this is pretty good. If you need something to hold a cd collection, look elsewhere or make your own.

Wood preconditioner helped before staining. Base of crate has two slats, not a solid bottom. I used this as a washcloths and soap holder on top the toilet, next to the shower; served the purpose of a rustic crate.
